Online Applications

I’m toying with the idea of adding a very simple online application to Shifty. I don’t want to bloat the app, but it seems like a good fit (I could be wrong).

Browsing craigslist job ads, I see a lot of restaurant, part-time, and retail job opening. These are the same companies that Shifty is perfect for. Perhaps a very simple application that they could link to in a place like CL would be helpful.

Hello and welcome to the home of Shifty, an upcoming web application designed to help stores and restuarants with employee scheduling. Shifty is currently in private beta. The Shifty Blog will be here and will keep you updated on news and progress. There’s a scant more information on the about page.

Shifty is a project conceived and built by me, Erik Dungan, and hosted by my primary company. The idea of Shifty was actually born over 3 years ago when my wife worked at the Sea Venture Resort in Pismo Beach, California. I noticed how managers used Excel to create schedules and employees used post-it notes to request days off. I thought it could be done better. And faster.
